Kayeona Thompson
Masters Level Intern

I am a motivated Social Work Intern professional with three years of hands-on experience in foster care and six years of experience in human services. I am currently enrolled in the Master of Social Work program at Howard University as I aim to pursue an educational degree that is grounded in ethics and the Black Perspective. As a Caribbean woman who has personally navigated my own mental health journey, I understand the importance of creating safe, culturally responsive spaces where individuals feel seen, heard, and supported. My experiences have strengthened my passion for increasing mental health awareness and recognizing the importance of mental wellness within Caribbean and broader communities.
My practice is grounded in strengths-based, person-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive approaches, while incorporating a holistic healing perspective that recognizes the connection between mental, emotional, physical, social, and spiritual well-being. I am committed to empowering individuals through advocacy, healing, self-discovery, and personal growth.
