Izaiah McNeil
Masters Level Intern

Hello! My name is Izaiah and I am a Master's Level Intern with 2nd Chances. My career in mental health started with a genuine desire to understand people and help them navigate life’s challenges. After earning my Bachelor of Art in Psychology from Central Connecticut State University, I worked at a behavioral school supporting students with special education needs. I loved being part of a team that helped children grow and succeed, which inspired me to continue my path in social work. I most recently engaged children and families as an IICAPS Mental Health Counselor, supporting clients in their home and communities to navigate challenges, strengthen relationships, and improve emotional well-being. I am currently pursuing my Master of Social Work and look forward to growth in my role both personally and professionally!
As a multiracial individual, I appreciate how our backgrounds and life experiences shape who we are and how we see the world. I believe everyone deserves to feel heard, understood, and supported without judgment. My approach centers on building genuine connections, recognizing individual strengths, and understanding the experiences behind people’s struggles. I am passionate about helping children and families recognize their potential, build resilience, and create positive changes that last.
